Hello!

I'm Sophie, the designer and illustrator behind Inky Acorn Designs. I illustrate all the designs and print all the art prints in house at my studio on the Kent/East Sussex border. For greetings cards, homewares and knickknacks, I work with a small number of wonderful British businesses to bring my illustrations to life (they are much better with specialist printing machines than I am!).

Inky Acorn Designs is named after the first thing I carved into linoleum when I was getting back into being creative after feeling a bit out of my depth working as a graduate biscuit buyer for a very large British retailer (a tasty but ruthless job that just wasn't for me). This little inky linoleum acorn sparked something in me and over the following years I worked as hard as I could when work finished and went back to university to make that creative dream a reality. One of the projects in an illustration module was on illustrated maps - let's just say, it gave me the bug!

After designing my own colourful East Quay Venue wedding invitations back in 2018, I started getting lots of requests from friends and friends of friends to design their wedding stationery and hey presto! Inky Acorn Designs was born!
